Old with grace...

Anybody else feel old? I will be old in 5 days! I have a birthday looming, and no longer will I be able to say I'm in my mid twenties!

Late twenties! What is that all about?

I notice lines on my face, my body aches, hangovers are like little day trips to hell…

I don't know if I want to get old. I'm not comfortable with it. It distresses me. I don't think I'll leave home again on the eventual discovery of the first grey pube. My favourite Samantha (Sex & The City) quote, after dying her pubes… "nobody wants to f**k grandma's p***y…" Hahahahaha…

We live in such a youth obsessed society, and we all scratch our heads wondering why. Well young people look prettier. They do. Young people are gorgeous and lets not deny it! Yes some men grow into their looks, but that don't last long…

To be honest, this is not some intellectual foray into some cultural post modern identity crisis. It's more of a moan really.

I'm being unusually vain today, not normally this negative. I rarely suffer from identity anxiety, but age is one of those issues, probably my only identity issue…

Any good shrinks???????

I would love age related anxiety comments. This is something I would love to discuss further… My next personal challenge!

Yes, but don't forget that there are many charismatic men and women who are sexually attractive. Youth=Beauty may vary to the people. Some people are really handsome/beautiful when they are young, but youth is also the years of spots, bad haircuts and inappropriate clothes regarding to our face and body colours... The years bring the conscience about our body and choices regarding to life. I am 28 years old and I feel myself more handsome then my 18 years old. Besides to your body, the attitude; "allure générale" is also important to have sexual appealing. A smiling or using your hands might be very exciting for people. If I give an example from mature handsome George Clooney is merely there showing himself "mature and sexy business man" in the advertisements of Nescafé. Further more, know that your friends and your family will always love you, not because of your face but your character. It is enough to be clean, tidy and positive to the people. Even the most beautiful rose dies, so don't worry about your changing. But make some sport and meditation to keep yourself fresh! :)

Dear Mark, where do I start? Mmmm I once read that when you look back on photos of yourself ten years ago you will remember how insecure you were about how you looked, but see how beautiful you actually were.

I distinctly Remember turning 26. Age and mortality hit really hard. It was a real surprise as at 25 I felt I was only Quarter way through my life which had now been cruelly moved up to half way!

Youthful good looks are very misleading. The most beautiful teenagers can go so horribly wrong after 23. If you're still looking good in your late 20's then your laughing my dear ;D

I turned 40 a few days before I saw you on NYE and as much as I want to embrace it in so many ways I can't really get my head round it. Only today I was turning it over in my mind, but remembered that 40 in some countries is very old and how incredibly lucky I am to have healthy food, female independence, birth control and of course sun
screen ......

Of course there's always botox for a quick fix. It's not as hideous as Katy Price's face would have us believe if used sparingly. I had it last year in spring as I was fed up of my frown lines. Something I never thought I would do EVER. It was subtle and did the job for 3-4 months and gave my friend Gemma hours of amusement! "Go on Helen frown" I'd try to frown and my nostrils would flare out. Hilarious!!!

Keep smiling handsome
Helen xxx
